THE BASICS FUKUOKA

The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the main station and easy to find. The room is spacious, with a splendid bathroom. What I appreciated most was the conveniently located light switch right next to the bed, along with several standing reading lamps—perfect for some bedtime reading. There's also an ice cube maker on the 6th floor, which is a nice touch during the hot summer. Wi-Fi signal is strong and reliable.

Beautiful hotel. The breakfast was outstanding with a large selection meats, fish and vegetable dishes. It was fun to try all the options. Room was very comfortable and well appointed. The location is a convenient walk to the subway and train. A few blocks away along the canal is a nice park with a surfaced running track. We booked a room with lounge access which was much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing we decompressed there before heading up to our room. The unique design of the interior with the multifloor display of books made the hotel a special stay.

The location was great. It was close to Hakata Station (a 5-8 min walk, I think) and it was like a 5-minute taxi ride from Fukuoka International Airport. There is a Family Mart next to it, and was very near ramen places and drugstores. The staff there speaks English enough for us to understand each other. They were also thoughtful enough to give each of my kids a kit that contains bedroom slippers, a duck sponge, and toothbrush. So cute! Too bad we weren't able to experience their breakfast buffet due to our hectic schedule.

We stayed a second time at this hotel at the end of our trip. The 2nd stay was equally good and no major complaints or issues. We made better use of the lounge this time and the kids enjoyed using the tokens to help get us glasses of wine. We also tried more of the breakfast options around which was nice. Also, if you are traveling with a bigger group and require a large taxi/van, we recommend asking the hotel for help booking a few weeks in advance of the date you need it. Otherwise, just use the GOTaxi app to book a few taxis when you need them. The taxi will arrive within a few mins.

Location opposite a small park and a short stroll to the main train station, impressive building (and reception area space especially), excellent bathroom (very spacious) although the shower controls were complicated. Shower pressure very strong.
